An immaculate example of a 19th century 'toupin' cooking vessel which would most likely originated in Provence in Southern France. This lovely terracotta vessel features a distinctive buttery yellow glazed top and single side handle. It would've predominantly been used to slowly cook stews, soups and sauces over a fire, with the slight colouration to its raw terracotta bottom telling of its past life sat on the heat! Its handle would've been used to lift the piece and pour out its contents. Picked up on our most recent European sourcing trip, this is the first piece of its kind we've launched on Maker and a truly one-of-a-kind vessel that would bring old Provencal charm to any modern kitchen space.
